“A day full of creativity, depth, and connection where you will learn how to transform a personal story or theme into a narrative portrait.”
About the Workshop
Together, we will search for the essence of your story. What gives you strength? What touches you deeply? What do you struggle with or dream of? Think ahead about a topic that occupies your mind – whether big or small, light or heavy. If nothing comes to mind, don’t worry! In the workshop, I’ll guide you through this process and you’ll naturally be inspired.
We will brainstorm together to find the right visual language and symbolism. I will assist you in choosing colors, finding a composition that supports your story, and letting go of the idea that a portrait must be “beautiful” or “correct.” You are free to work realistically, but also loosely, intuitively, or experimentally. Anything goes, as long as it conveys your message and resonates with you.
Materials such as thick paper, acrylic paint, pencils, erasers, and rulers will be provided. Feel free to bring your own favorite drawing or painting supplies!
For Whom?
Groups of 10 to 15 people.
Suitable for both beginner and advanced adults.
This workshop can be booked for academies, retreats, company outings, groups of friends, or any other gatherings.

Malu Bekker

I am Malu, and since 2019 I have officially been an entrepreneur, but in reality, it all started long before that. From a young age, I have been passionate about fashion (designing), painting, illustrating, and later also animating.
In 2021, I graduated Cum Laude from the Illustrated and Animated Storytelling program at AKV St. Joost in Den Bosch. Today, I work as a freelance illustrator and animator for various (social) organizations such as the Salvation Army and the Red Cross.
In addition to freelancing, I create paintings to give expression to everything that happens internally within myself and/or others. Images capture what words sometimes fail to express.
With this workshop, I hope to offer people a new expressive form to navigate their own internal world.
