I was given the special commission by Ongekend Nijmegen to bring one of the stories from the city’s rich history to life. This story focuses on the reconstruction of the city after the devastations of World War II.

Before the war, Nijmegen was known as “The Tower City,” with its impressive city skyline and towers. However, after the destruction that the city’s center endured, Nijmegen’s urban blueprint was almost blank. The reconstruction began. Twenty years later, the final stone was laid/ the last roof tile placed.
